I’d like to offer a special tip of the hat to Margaret Jenkins parent volunteer Scott Philips of Starfish Medical !
For the last four Friday mornings, as a representative from Jr. Achievement, Scott has offered JA’s “Business Basics” course to an enthusiastic class. In a creative, involving and interactive way, students learned how to turn a business idea a reality, the different types of business, the kinds of things employer’s look for in an employee, how to apply for a job (and how NOT to apply for a job – ask your son or daughter about Mr. T’s “job interview”!), how to calculate income and expenses, the ways marketing is used to influence what we buy and much, much more. It was an informative as well and entertaining time.
Thanks so much Scott – we all appreciated it!!
