on our “Og” novel were handed out today. Students were told to put them in their homework duotangs so that parents can see them.
Although some writing errors were noted (i.e. misspellings, missing punctuation, etc. ), these errors did not affect test scores. Test scores were determined by how well students answered the questions. The tests were designed to assess story recall and comprehension, as well as story analysis skills.
FYI – When our class novel is finished (probably this week), there will be a final test. This major test will total almost as many points as the other three tests combined (thus giving students an opportunity to improve their overall reading score average).
Some marked spelling tests were also given out today.
