As posted here on Monday, the homework for the week was to answer “Teacher Challenge #2” on our History Project Blog (see the right sidebar for a link to this blog).
For those who could not find the original assignment on the History blog, here it is:
“Teacher Challenge #2
Instead of working with your duocade groups (on Monday), we met in topic or theme groups. For this Teacher Challenge, we would like you to tell us about the discussion that you had with your peers. It’s important for you to talk to your classmates about what you are learning, but it is just as important to reflect on (or think about) what you have been learning. This reflection gives you time to do the kind of thinking (making connection, noticing what’s similar or different, finding information that doesn’t add up, asking new questions) that leads to deeper learning.
Please start your new post by telling what topic or theme you discussed, and who was in your group.
Next, answer the questions below:
- What did you learn or discover from your discussion today?
- What surprised you?
- What are you wondering now and do you have any new research questions?
- Can you make any connections throughout the duocades?
Finally, remember to categorize your post as ‘Teacher Challenge’ before you submit it for review. Good luck!”
