there’s no homework tonight!
(And the Friday spelling test will be on Monday, as Friday ia a Pro-D Day.)
We have begun reading our class novel, the classic children’s book “The Secret World Of Og”, getting as far as chapter three. The spelling list for this week is made up of words from the novel. The homework tonight, then, is to practice those words by writing sentences using each spelling word. The twist is that the sentences have to either seem to have come from the first six chapters of the novel. They don’t have to actually represent the story, as the class has only begun the story. Students can write sentence that might be about the story! There is also a little art assignment to complete at the bottom back of the sheet.
for those students who didn’t get 100% on last week’s spelling pre-test, there is a 30 word spelling test on Friday. The words for this test were handed out last Monday. Good luck, students, and study hard!!
to read the 2nd article in the kid newspaper “Canadian Reader” and then to complete the questions on the page after the article. That’s it!
About a swimming field trip to Saanich Community Pool with Mr M’s gr 4/5 class!
Homework for tonight is to work on the research reports.
